Experienced Florida Lawyer and Mediator
Many attorneys emphasize alternative forms of dispute resolution, such as mediation, because they are afraid of bringing a case to court. I am not afraid of court. I am a strong litigator who believes that those who are prepared for court can succeed in court. However, I also believe that certain cases can be resolved more effectively — and in alignment with the interests and goals of those involved — when resolved through methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) such as mediation.
I am Greg Colvin, an attorney and mediator who helps individuals and families throughout Central Florida in obtaining legal solutions to family problems such as divorce, personal injury, foreclosure and other legal matters.

Understanding Mediation — Is Mediation Right for You?
Mediation is a non-adversarial problem-solving process that focuses on achieving solutions to difficult — often emotionally charged — legal concerns such as divorce or family law disputes, personal injury-related insurance disputes, foreclosure and other civil matters.
Mediation is facilitated by an impartial third party (the mediator) who encourages communication between the parties, with an ultimate goal of finding a mutually acceptable agreement. While an attorney's loyalty lies with one party or side of a legal issue, the mediator is neutral and facilitates communication between the parties, who may be in the same room, but frequently are in separate conference rooms.
Whereas litigation proceedings can involve a high level of conflict, animosity and formality, mediation is confidential, non-adversarial and informal.
